Beginner Gamers Build PC

Hi, I haven't built a pc from scratch for 20 years, now my son is wanting a gaming PC, and I'd like to build one from scratch. So asking SD community for advice on an entry build. Son is 10, and is use to Xbox and switch. Not looking for a pro system, but a modest build. Budget is $500ish.
Hopefully I can build this in the next 30 days.
I need monitor, case, motherboard, ssd, ram, gaming card, keyboard, mouse, software…
Any help on this would be awesome, thanks.
Just a thought $100 monitor, $400 for internals, and another $50 for external controllers and such.
If I'm out if my mind, that's fair, just let me know where i should be on budget realistically.
Thanks

What kind of games does he like to play? It is possible to put together something fun but as far as being able to run the latest and hottest titles I doubt this will do it... Not very specific but I think if you keep the motherboard and video card close to $100 each it's doable, maybe since he's 10 he's not going to be that picky.
BTW this probably belongs in the tech support section just because you are looking at a lot of details and it isn't finding a deal on one thing.
