Email didn't make it clear, but the link in the email was for the Echo Show 8 (2nd Gen) + Alexa Together sub. You can't order it in the app, I guess because of the subscription involved. Need to go to amazon.com. I deleted the promo code because it appeared to likely be user specific and one use only. That price isn't as good as this deal but it's something to consider if you don't qualify for the AARP offer. The original list price for the Show 8 is $130.

They are giving me until January 3 to send my trade in. If they don't receive it by then they will take back the discount and charge my account.
Of course you have to be signed in to Amazon when you are doing this. Sometimes they give you the discount upfront,other times no discount until they receive the trade in, YMMV.
I wanted to buy a Fire Tv Cube about a month ago and I didn't get the discount on the Fire Stick I traded in until after they received it. I waited until I had the discount until I ordered the Cube.
Even if they make you wait for the discount go ahead and send it in now. I'm sure they'll probably have more sales on the Echo Show between now and Xmas and the discount will be in your account and apply automatically.
Once you start the trade in process the instructions are very clear and they'll let you know exactly how it'll work in your case.

We have a Google Home connected to a sound bar in same room that's much larger, expensive and presumably better quality, but we end up using this Alexa more often. Seems to understand the kids better.
