I stuck to Shimano for a long time for the mineral oil requirement, but have sram on several bikes now and haven't had a single issue with DOT fluid. I do go ahead and flush all my brakes when I open a bottle so as not to waste fluid

Don't forget to buy the non "bike" brand dot 5.1 fluid for 5x the amount at less than half the price of SRAM fluid lol

You have to buy separate hoses and fluid?

It's a complete kit but you may need to bleed them. If you're getting a rear brake and have internal routing you'll definitely need to bleed them. Fluid is cheap, like $7 for enough fluid to bleed these 5 times.

Slickdeals won't let us mention their competition. Google backcountry cashback there's a site that lists all the different cashback sites. The 12% site(A-J) is solid. Idk about the 13.6% one.

Awesome deal but I'd pay more for Shimano brakes any day of the week. DOT is annoying.

Same thoughts having Shimano Bias for the ease of bleeding and swapping brakes around, but damn...good deal for decent brakes. If you are riding Guides, maybe it's time for an upgrade 😉

I've been wanting to upgrade my bike brakes to disc for some time, it looks like this price is for front or back, and doesn't include discs?

SRAM brakes are very easy to bleed and there is zero mess, I wouldn't let the DOT fluid scare you away. The modulation is what drove me to SRAM, not sure if Shimano is still more on/off as I've been on SRAM for a while now.
