Unless you plan on pushing speeds past 900mbps, I'd save the money and get the Motorola MB7621.

That would be side grade to a modem with lesser hardware specs probably not worth it unless your having issues with what you have.
The only upgrade from would be like the S33 Arris or MM8611 Motorola and just because they have 2.5gb ports

Between the MB8600 and the Arris S33, which would be the better buy? They're both on sale, but I was able to get the Arris for $126 + tax.

The MB8600 is capable of 6 Gbps?

Agreed! It should also be noted these "deals" are really only around $16 off from their usual sale prices from what I've personally seen.

Caution: if you need telephone on the modem, MT7711 is the only device on this list that will work for you.

I got sucked into family tech support, and they didn't think to mention their VOIP service... now we get to make a bunch of returns.
