I bought some a few years ago and did a "permanent" install on the outside of my house. Hid the lights under the eaves with 3M attachments and stuffed extra cord in the gutters. Since lights go from the center of the line and out, I also had to attach them to an extension cord, and at the junction I bought a waterproof box. My only gripe is that sometimes the alexa routine to turn them off at 11 pm doesn't work on the top string of lights I have but it works on the bottom string. Govee has just released some permanent outside lights as well and they look great but they are perpetually out of stock.

Btw, I tracked these lights for a year in my Amazon Wishlist and they DO NOT go on much of sale after the holidays.

White Christmas trees are a thing… I'd love to get these but I need white wires as well. They do offer one version of strings in 250 light count with clear wire but it's hard to find.

Why wouldn't you just have bought outdoor rated individually addressable led strips for far cheaper? You could have controlled then with wled or similar. Value of these is the app that auto syncs the lights to how you wrap your tree for doing synchronized patterns and that's why they're so expensive

Agreed. These things rarely go on sale. The best deal I've ever found is the Costco deal they briefly had last year

You can sync with WLED as well. I actually popped in to see if they were WLED compatible. Lol.

I definitely agree but this is still a relatively new product (1-2yrs) so Im sure they need to appeal to the masses first.

I will add that I have the gen 1 ones (still think these things are too expensive but eff it, I got them anyway). They are definitely pretty once you get past the insane pricing for xmas tree lights

Just started researching wled and strips. You mind sharing options that are cheaper for outdoor on-house installs?

I have a approx 6 ft tree and the Twinkly 400 loops around twice and is sufficient.
