Twinkly's warranty is really difficult too, they even wanted me to do a screen recording of me resetting the device. What? Proof that I reset it? Ridiculous.
See attached.

My name is Paola, and I'm part of the Twinkly User Satisfaction Team. Thanks for reaching out to us!
First off, can you test if there's an issue with the power supply by using another power supply from another working set of lights, or testing it with a multimeter?
(Please note, if you have another Twinkly device to test the power supply with, and a device from 250 LEDs upwards, check that the power supply is the same model, i.e. 1.5A.)
If the other supplier/the test doesn't reveal a power supply failure, please provide me with the following information so I can better assist you:
your Twinkly account email address
a screenshot of the device page (tap on the LED icon at the bottom right-hand side of the screen, then on the gear icon next to your Twinkly device name)
a picture of your Twinkly packaging
a copy of the receipt (preferably in PDF) with all the info about the purchase especially the date.
a short screen recording/video of you resetting your Twinkly device and the outcome (please make sure this shows the problem live if the issue persists after the reset).
I look forward to hearing back from you.
Kind regards,
Paola

One year warranty. Not good enough for me on such an expensive investment in lights. I Need to see at least a 3 year base warranty. (Honestly 5y would be more fair for $100+ Christmas lights imho)
Too many poor reviews on Amazon for my taste, of the lights failing after one season/overheating issues, etc.

Outdoor rating of only ip44 is too low for my tastes as well if I was to put the main string outside, again, for being so expensive. Ip44 is basically splash resistant and not suitable for heavy rain or prolonged exposure (imho and based on the reviews and my own researching ip ratings).
Rain in Florida can be dramatic to say the least.

The 400 by itself was last on sale for $80 recently during that fantastic pc Richards sale. Not sure if regular sales will drop that low again anytime soon.

I don't use the dots or very familiar with them but $120 seems to be a reasonable SD price. I just have too many twinkly 400 and 600 now.

Where do you put them? I bought 600 for my Christmas tree this year and love it.

I personally don't think it should have to spend more for an extended warranty on an already expensive product.

Hope you got your money back or a replacement at least. That is some ridiculously bad 'customer service'. I get they don't want to lose money, but good grief… just no.

I'm at over 100 sets of Twinkly's, over the past 4 years, so I've had my share of issues.

The biggest issues I've had is the wires ripping out of the bulbs; I've had this happen when I've draped them over evergreens in my yard and an ice storm with heavy snow comes along, and the branches sagging and putting too much pressure on the lights.

This year I had 4 strings of 100's with a single dead pixel, and 1 string of 250's that had seven dead pixels. I emailed support, and they asked for exactly that too, so I showed them, and shared my device details page (for them to verify I haven't made a claim on a device with that MAC before).

They confirmed that the strings had an issue, and are mailing me 5 new sets. And, I don't have to return my existing ones, so I'll just use them on trees too, and put the new ones on props.

I was pretty happy with that support, as 3 years ago when I had a single dead pixel on a 600's string they offered me a 50% discount on buying a new set.

Mind you I'm also a Canadian who runs them in the winter, so I don't deal with the same heat/rain issues of the south. In the spring I bring them back in, wrapped up in the same up/down folds they came in, dry them, and store them inside in their original boxes. Although I plan to leave my icicles up this year, so perhaps we'll see...

If anyone lives near the Canadian border and has a Rona they can get to, the 400 RGB's are on clearance for $60 CAD (~$45 USD) right now. Very slim stock at this point, but for those in NY near Belleville or Kingston, they had plenty yesterday... I cleared out over 12 sets myself so far in my own city.

I had to go through the same stuff, I partly get it though as they are just trying to troubleshoot the device. I had a few rogue bulbs that wouldn't change color so they sent me a whole new 600 set and didn't request the funky one back.

Okay, raise the price of the item by $20 and get a free extended warranty. Problem solved.
