It's pathetic if these tax companies are sharing our sensitive datas for profit. Used H&R for few years, now may be have to think about switching over to TT.

Wait a few more days, this should fall another few bucks. Don't let them bait you with these pre-bf prices.

Don't care if this will go a bit cheaper. I'll pay a few bucks more to not have to monitor this and wonder all month. Thanks!

I agree! My notes show I got this for $17.48 from newegg on Jan 3 last year. Newegg had it for 22.49 on BF last year as well.

Apologize for this unhelpful comment, but the link is broken.

Thank you for sharing the info though - I found it and am in for 1!

Good deal. But be aware of their practices with your data:

Tax Filing Websites Have Been Sending Users' Financial Information to Facebook

The Markup found services including TaxAct, TaxSlayer, and H&R Block sending sensitive data
Easy solution - Do NOT check the box that says "I consent to the disclosure of my information to H&R Block Personalized Services, LLC." when you first go through the setup.

After being a loyal HR block customer for about 10 years, I am thinking about switching to Turbo tax; now 2 companies will have all my financial data instead of one. I am just confused 🫤

The illusion of privacy is real. We really don't have any real idea of who see what we do digitally anymore. For example Apple was found out that they were tracking what people did on their Apple made apps like News and the App Store. Even if you said not to track. That not to track button is just pixels on a screen turning from green (on) to gray (off). There is no guarantee that the button did anything at all. Sorry I just get a little upset with companies that lie about what they do. Also this is kind of an oxymoron because I'm putting this message on a site that all they do is track what you do lol. So you either live in a cave or pick your poison.

Thanks for the link to the article. Good reading...of course, like with most stories, I have more questions.

One thing I would like to state though, is that you should have indicated in your own write-up, that the article referred to ONLINE filing of taxes - not downloadable software as this deal write-up is about. Who knows, maybe there is other data being shared but your article indicated that this was an issue with online websites using Pixel's (which is something new to me) and not downloadable software.

I agree there could be a difference. But that data still gets uploaded to their service and could still be shared. But like my last comment you really don't have privacy anymore anyway.
