Was it a phone order or something? Your story could have been true in the 90s, maybe first half of 00s, but not from the past decade +.

Anybody tried this out with a Hifiman HE6se v2? Currently powering them straight from my receiver's binding posts, sounds better than my MP THX887 to me, been wanting to see how a tube amp would sound with them.

There are much better tube amps at this price.. The Douk ST-01 comes to mind and it can be had on Amazon with a better return policy and extended holiday returns. Check out cheapaudioman on YouTube for reviews

If you want this for the headphone amp don't get it. Can confirm reviews that it has a constant low buzz.

I also purchased last time. I noticed headphone Jack was super sensitive and my headphone to rca cord had to be positioned just right or sound was distorted, scratchy, feedback. Also one of the led bulbs was out upon arrival. I really didn't notice to much difference in sound honestly.

I have the 50watt version. I am using the Pioneer SP-BS22-LR Andrew Jones Home Audio Bookshelf Loudspeakers on that. It sounds very clear. Base is also very good.
