This is essentially a hard case with a free guitar. It doesn't have a solid top, nor is it worth protecting with a hard case.

This is a cool gift for a beginning musician. Fender is considered a high end brand, even though this is entry level, it's still a Fender guitar. You may be driving a C-Class, but you're still driving a Benz.

How much would a case cost . . . $75 or $100? The guitar may be a throw-away or re-gift, but you're getting a case for super cheap.

Yes, with naughty kid at home, the case is more important to me šŸ˜. Just ordered one. I'll be returning the one I got from Costco for $159.

Their American made electric stuff yea that's high ((ish) end but their acoustics were usually on the cheap sideā€¦. I think their high end acoustic stuff was guildā€¦ not sure anymore

I bought this a couple months ago at the low of $109; It really is worth it even without the case. The market is extremely competitive for $200 acoustics, you can get some really decent guitars for the money, and this is no exception. Decent quality, nice fit and finish. Plays well and sounds good, no fret buzz even with an aggressive attack. Hard to find fault with it. However: When I bought mine the site said made in Indonesia, and mine is tagged made in Indonesia. The site now says made in China. So I'm not sure what *that* means. Also, my case does not have the silk-screened Fender logo as shown, but a metal Fender tag on the side by the handle. The case is well worth $100. Same one sells on the Fender site for $140.
