All things being equal I'd rather get a small 2k watt generator, a small power station and a solar panel and still end up spending less than half of this one.

If I lived in a small apartment and had more dollars than sense this might be a good option Wink

A warranty means nothing if the CS is bad or they do not actually support the product which happens all the time on Amazon.

You could buy 7 of these and have the power storage of a Tesla Powerwall at roughly the same price (without installation).
If you're unconcerned with portability, then I'd think that you'd be better off buying the components separately. You could put together the rough equivalent to this (actually a little better) with 2x $300 100Ah 12v Lifepo4 batteries, 2x $100 20A lifepo4 chargers, and a $250 2500W pure sine wave inverter.

Then you'd be able to add/modify as you go along and, ideally, wire things into your panel with a transfer switch.

I have one, and I'm petty happy with it.

One thing I haven't seen noted, though, is that the minimum solar input is around 35v, meaning you need at least two 12v panels to charge it.

Was considering that - but if you go 1:1, you'd also need to include an MPPT charge controller capable of 700W

Better specs yes.

Better odds of avoiding a dud & bad cs is what appears very uncertain with this particular brand
Ecoflow and bluetti. Which one has better real performance?

Serious question because what you describe is what I'm looking for. Where can I get all that for $500?

Yup, exactly a reason I've been staying away from bluetti

My Bluetti products both failed on me. (EB3A). I wanted them to work but after two returns that was it. My 2 Ecoflows are working just fine. Performance is one thing but quality control is another. I'd lean towards Ecoflow.

I have an Ecoflow River Pro with the optional extra battery and both failed out of the box but Ecoflow's service was excellent. I got replies to e-mails within 24 hours and after sending them videos of the issues they had me RMA the units back which were then replaced with new units. It was a several week process to get the replacements but at least it happened in a somewhat timely matter and the replacements are working fine other than they have a several percent less usable capacity than my Bluetti's.

My Bluettis are all working fine so can't comment on their service other than they did send me a firmware update for my AC500 after I had left a comment about some error codes on the Bluetti forums.

How this can be plugged into home power grid to support solar during outages?
