I got this with the 32GB DDR5 bundle on newegg for $300 2 weeks ago. Good motherboard so far. you can use Qflash+ to update the BIOS w/o having a CPU installed. essential for 13th gen support

Looking for something to pair with the i7-12700, is this the one to bite on?
I have this same board, when they first came out they were a pain to work with. It didn't support the 12700K and enabling XMP would cause the system to be unstable. Make sure you up date BIOS, the latest fixes XMP issues.
Just be sure to get the Thermalright contact frame to get better cooling (from what I have been researching).
Yup I got two one for a gaming PC other for a server. Just be careful and don't over tighten the screw and use a cross tightening each screw so you don't unevenly tighten on side vs another

Would this work with DDR4 ram? Or is it just compatible with DDR5?
DDR5 only. You would need one set for DDR4 and another set of slots for DDR5. It can be only one. The only time I've seen combos is on AlieExpress motherboards.

You'll need a smaller usb flash drive to do a q-flash without cpu/memory in order to use 13th gen on this without having a 12th gen to flash it, otherwise it's a great board with features and VRMs that rival the $300 boards from Asus/MSI.
Pair this with a $300 13600K and you can max out a 4090 even.

If you're using your own DAC, you might not care about that
