They sell on Amazon also - delivery is "free"...but everything costs exactly $10 more than on their web site.
I'm sure that's just a coincidence

I get it but note that the savings offsets the shipping on just one pack of the double twistress towels when compared to Amazon. That being said the real benefit is when you order enough for free shipping which I had done.

They actually make less due to Amazon fees too though.

this is true. although i'm sure Amazon gets a better rate on shipping than a regular company. Which may or may not cancel out part or all of that fee loss. Who knows? I'm sure the numbers are all closely guarded Amazon secrets. I'd really love to see some inside whistleblower wikileak all the secret Amazon algorithms, that would be worth reading.

From experience, many small businesses that sell on Amazon ship the products themselves.
But, as you noticed, as they have to offer "free shipping" on Amazon, they raise the price to include the shipping costs.

Yup. Amazon's got them either way, either Amazon ships and charges you, or you ship yourself and lose sales from folks who are suspicious of anything not shipped from Amazon, which is a lot of folks (and often justifiably so) And if you choose not to sell on Amazon to avoid it, you lose a huge chunk of customers there. It's definitely tough for independent sellers. And if you're too successful, Amazon makes a generic of your product and undercuts you.

Would be nice if companies actually had to prove that shipping and handling cost what they say it does rather than being able to just make it up out of whole cloth.
I love TRC's stuff but not to spend $50 just to get $5 shipping. It's much cheaper to order from Car Supplies Warehouse for 20% off and pick up at their local Chicago suburb location, along with chemicals.
Maybe if you're a pro detailer and need $50+ worth of towels?

You could say the same thing if you live near TRC in Boise, ID. TRC also sells chemicals.

Great quality towels, these aren't run of the bill local Costco/Advanced/Walmart Towels. Maintain them properly with Free & Clear Laundry Detergent, No Heat in Dry Cycle, and no Perfumes/Dyes/Softener.
Only time you can get cheaper is via Wholesale Detailing sites and quality is probably 90% of these.

I initially made a purchase when this promo first started and then cancelled it. The shipping was definitely a factor and I needed some chemicals from brands they don't sell. Ended up placing an order with Clean Garage as their microfibers are also 70/30 blend. Their shipping was higher, but better to pay once and get exactly what I need.
I would also like to add that depending on what you need it may be cheaper to look at resellers like Autogeek, Autopia, and Autoality for microfiber. Autoality doesn't carry TRC product, but they do carry Autofiber and they ship free. I have a couple of the Autofiber dreadnought towels that work great for drying the car. Two 16x16 towels and I can do an entire SUV easily.
