Good find. Unfortunately I already bought the unmanaged version and out of my return window. I also have an Amex $25 discount I can use. Poop. Really tempting to buy this…
EDIT: or did you mean small in terms of footprint?
I actually got the TP-Link one - a very handy device, especially giving you 8 ports at 10GB. Now, given that you have to add a transceiver (for either SFP+ optical or wired) it gets to be a bit more per port - but still a very nice deal.
This is something I think is even better deal - especially at $129 - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BFC6QFRL/
You get 2x 10Gbps fiber ports + 4x 2.5Gbps wired.
It's a good deal. But I prefer a future proof set-up since this one only has 8x 1Gbe ports with 4 10GBe SFP+.
I just purchased this Netgear (MS510TXM) one which will last 5+ years as a managed 10Gbe switch and on the plus side is that it does not have 1GBE ports and has only 4x 2.5GBE RJ45 and 4x 10GBe RJ45 on sale for 459.00 all being ethernet plus an additonal 2x 10Gbe SFP+ port (Non-Shared) for future expansion which is in my budget range for future proofing.
Since I already have a 24 port 1Gbe managed Zyxel switch I purchased in 2015 that I can daisy-chain onto it.
Click on other sellers to purchase from Amazon.com direct for 459.00 Also keep in mind it will take 1-2 months for delivery. Since I could wait for it and in no rush to set it up. I called Amazon and the 12 month warranty will start from Netgear on the date of receipt. I also purchased the Asurion 4 year plan (optional) which will start from that date as well to keep my device peace of mind.
Don't burn me for asking but may I ask if there's any residential use for a managed switch?
Yes,
Link aggregation to combine 2 ethernets into one. E.g. 2x2.5gbe makes 5gbe or on some switches 2x10gbe makes 20gbe, also monitor devices bandwith usage via QOS, or assign static ip with security cameras if some brands don't play well with others via auto assigning IPs, also remote manage NAS running 24/7 Plex server. There is also per port security and vlans but most simple end users usage model may not need it. Depends really on the end user usage case. But having managed is better as a primary switch with all of these options.

or if you need it sooner, direct from Newegg, which will take a few days to arrive.

Also, I didn't need an unmanaged dummy one since I wanted to manage my IP addresses and performance monitoring.
Think managed switch like install interior doors.
