If you are not a benchmark freak and only need a drive to store games, this 2TB drive for $110 is a better fit. Its designed for everyday average person use not someone who chases benchmarks in artificial scenarios.

Would either the OP or your linked drive work in a Synology NAS device?

No - the PS5 requires a 5500MB/s sequential read or faster drive - https://www.playstation.com/en-us...ll-m2-ssd/. This drive is 4125MB/s

My pleasure, Also, if PS5 check how hot the M.2 nvme drive runs and inquire whether the drive has a heatsink (to help dissipate heat)

The solidgm p41 plus is qlc. So it's much lower endurance and slow for heavy wow operations.

SSD and NVME are both solid-state. Did you refer to Samsung's SATA drives? Which are cheaper brands?

I prefer to use Samsung SATA SSD's ie 860 EVO,870 EVO...the Magician softeware is a must have! I prefer the WD MVME like Gen4 SN770 for price to speed, best value iMO.

Is using WD's counterpart software equally important?
