H actually has cashback of $6.66 on this, so I placed my order using that method. Free 2 day shipping too from WD, and I like the idea of ordering direct from the manufacturer since I can't tell what is shady and what is not on Amazon sometimes.

Also Chase has Paypal 5% cashback thru December for those who can double dip.

This is the lowest I have seen a gen 4 1TB drive that is a name I recognize. Not that I am an expert but there are a lot of other players out in the SSD NVMe drives.

Will use this as my boot drive in my new PC build.

Thanks OP!

I'm not familiar with this drive. Is it single sided and does it have a DRAM cache? How does it compare to the SN750?

Appears to have HMB (no DRAM). Solid deal for a brand name gen 4, especially since cash back offers are also available from WD directly. Full specs: https://www.westerndigital.com/pr...DS100T3X0E

Mine recognized upon boot and ps showed the correct read speed. Need to add a heatsink though.

Maybe, maybe not. TeamGroup tends to use SanDisk NAND with older Phison controllers, and that combination seems to affect the reliability. TeamGroup makes really good RAM, but their solid state storage seems to be unreliable (especially in longevity) judging by the reviews.

The Kingston is higher performance comparable to the SN850 but this one is $20 cheaper, so they are priced right relatively. Buy the one you can afford. Both are good deals.

Edit: I just saw a deal posted for the Kingston at $90 at Newegg. For $10 more than this I would recommend the Kingston.

So SSD technically works on ps5 and I watched a video where it is tested and seems to perform on par in games like FFVII and Demon Souls, however it is dram-less and not recommended by WD, which instead recommends sn850. For the price difference really not worth the potential issues or shortcomings it could have.

You would also need a heatsink, so you may as well just buy this

+1. I've been using TeamGroup RAM just fine for over 8 years but would hesitate to use their SSDs given complaints about reliability and troubles with using the warranty. I have 3 m.2 slots open at the moment and have been going through a lot of reviews lol.

If I needed a cheap NVMe SSD for games right now, I'd probably just take the 2tb Intel 670p on sale for $126. Or possibly wait for the PNY CS3030 to come back in stock at $130.
