Found a little loop hole with Capital One Shopping. If you install the CapitalOne Shopping extension and add the Casio CS-68 stand to your cart in Amazon and go to checkout, you'll get a link to save 15% on Adorama. Click on the link and activate it. After that, search for the PX-S3000 and you should see it at $500 with 15% still activated (normally 2%). Please note that CapitalOne Shopping gives you giftcards, not cash so technically you're not saving anything.

Anyone who actually plays piano would never play on unweighted keys

Apparently the black keys are significantly softer on these than the white keys. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mKAfScFK0QU
but at 500$ maybe the problem is solved?

Been eyeing this since it's been at $550. Will keep watching for a bit, but it's really tempting now!

Do the weighted keys really make much of a difference?

Depends on your goals. If you want to be able to play on a real piano then definitely.

These keys are weighted. "The superior touch of the PX-S3000 is thanks to the newly designed fully weighted Smart Scaled Hammer Action Keyboard, which delivers an authentic and uncompromising piano touch with an incredibly small footprint. Casio's proprietary key scaling system reproduces the individual characteristics of each of the 88 keys, while ebony and ivory key textures ensure confident playing in any climate."

not true. My brother is a concert pianist and he plays on unweighted keys. These are not for practice. For gigs in HS he would play jazz on unweighted keys probably due to price and now he plays on unweighted keys since that's what most midi controllers are.

Yes, it makes a big difference. If you've only used to one type, you really shouldn't buy the other until you've tried it. You could hate it. Or it could just not be worth it.

Ideally, you should test out this specific model because "weighted" can vary greatly, but I know that advice is not useful for a lot of people.

Damn no love for the kawai es110 anymore adorama?? I guess adorama successfully liquidated most of their es110 inventory a couple of months ago when conveniently I was not in the market for one. Lol

It doesn't look like it has a sustain pedal...

At 499 might have to pull the trigger.
