Just think... If you got 4 you'd be able to save over $1000! I've saved tens of thousands ever since discovering SD! My problem is... I can't stop saving 😭

If you are asking why this doesn't come with batteries and a charger you definitely don't need this lmao.

The $100 off Typhon is a way better deal and you won't need to spend $500 on a charger and two batteries.

A 5000mah 3s spektrum smart battery is $80 and you can get a decent charger for $55

I have a Typhon 3S and really wanted to jump on this deal, but after researching for an hour I think I'm going to stick with the one I have. The main reason is because the Fireteam is metal. It would be more expensive to fix whereas after I break my Typhon, it can usually be fixed for <$15. Also I read the Fireteam is more prone to bending (because it's metal) but there was some debate regarding this. Overall, I feel like I'd have to put more care / effort into maintaining the Fireteam.

100% this. 3s is the sweet spot for speed, durability via thick plastics, and low cost of repair for said plastic parts. You'll be slinging around a lot more weight once you get into 4S+ territory, and you need to be ready for the repairs.

My Vorteks 3s and Typhon 3s have been to hell and back but luckily plastic rebounds after bending 😁

3s is fun and all but don't sleep on 2s batteries. They're cheaper, more runtime for similar size, and you wont break it.

3s and 4s is just for bashing things apart.
Amen. I have an Arrma Vorteks BLX 3S, but most of the time we run 2S batteries in it. Still tons of fun, and quite a few times when we've had a 3S in it…someone ran it into something at 50+ mph LOL.

…unless your 7 year old drives your Vorteks square into a concrete curb. Ask me how I know. Big Grin

Im laughing at the comments of people buying a 1/7 scale 6s when they clearly know nothing about RCs.

This is a great car for beginners /s !

Sage advice I should've heeded last year.

My house is on a 3/4 acre lot and my Mojave 6s is too big/fast for my backyard. (virtually identical internals to Firetteam)

If you plan on using this around your yard try for a smaller scale, a 3s preferably.

Folks if you're thinking about an RC, check out QuadifyRC.com to learn about smaller models that cost in the $75-150 range.

Amazon has a BF deal for 16889a Pro for $120 which is an incredible 1/16 scale RC with 2 batteries and a great option for a kid (or adult) to learn with. It'll go 22mph at full throttle but has a dial to limit the speed for younger kids and beginners. It won't break your ankle if you crash into yourself at full speed and 2 batteries will prob give you 40 minutes of drive time.

I bit on this deal after much debate and once I saw the tip above about buying from king cobra hobby that sealed the deal.

I bought the Arrma Outcast when it first came out 6+ ish years ago. Loved that truck but ended up selling it cause the large field I ran it in started to be developed on and you needed a lot of space to run that stunt truck. Been getting the itch again for something 4wd and fast and now have some fields available to run this thing in so I am excited for it.

Can you kindly provide a link to said charger?

Also would a 30C battery be good enough or is 50C recommended?

Where y'all see that no tax? I got the 5% but there is tax being applied. What did I miss?

At least 50C. C-ratings are literally made up, but relatively speaking higher C-ratings do indicate an ability to support higher current draws. I would not run anything rated under 50C on a 6S truck.

I'm the opposite. Signed up for the newsletter but never got the 5% discount. Showing no tax though.
