FWIW, a flash deal over the weekend from Microsoft Store had this monitor at $700, and the Odyssey Neo at $1150.

Time machines being still in the design phase, there is hope another retailer will mimic sometime during the holidays, but this is still solid if you missed out and want this one vs the Neo, and can take advantage of the EDU/MIL discount.

I don't think this is outlet price, but normal price instead. EDU/military discount ended up taking it down to $755 like you mentioned, though!

Was wondering if I should get it and at this price I'm definitely OK with the decision!

EDIT: PSA for all - This is showing up on the normal advertised link in the Samsung shop, no need for the app! You'll have to go to the cart page after you added the monitor for the price to show up (must have EDU/military discount as well). Thanks again OP for the find!

Damn this or the CRG9 which I already bought. The curvature on the G9 might be pretty rough. Right now the CRG9 fits me desk perfectly.

As a note the CRG9 works at 100hz in PBP mode.

The G9 works at 60hz in PBP and maybe some mods and custom settings to get it up to 120/144hz in PBP.

Hmmm… it might be worthwhile to just kept the CRG9 since I run almost exclusively in PBP mode.

Just tried and the first time I was charged 899+tax. Tried again and was charged 755+tax. another upgrade for the sim racing rig! before someone say triples are better, wish I had more space for it, NYC living.

The person offered me a 5% discount but when he made the order, he said it doesn't work on top of the education discount. I'm guessing that would happen if you tried it with canceling as well but I'm unsure.

I just ordered 2 with .edu for 755 which is the edu limit. Installed app and went to outlet and ordered 3rd at 755. I've been kidding people that I was going to do this with my next build. Great price

Thank you for the info! I was wondering about how PBP differs between these two, as well as how the curvature feels. It appears that the local dimming on the G9 is even worse than the local dimming on the CRG9 (which already isn't great). The CRG9 is also apparently brighter in SDR.

I'm currently learning towards the CRG9, and my intended use is to replace my three-monitor work-from-home setup (mostly spreadsheets and documents) while also providing a good canvas for gaming. Do you have any more thoughts to offer on that?

I currently have a 32" curved and a 30" flat at home....work from home and personal stuff also. I've been debating getting a 49" Widescreen. Not sure I want the G9 or CRG9 (not sure I want the aggressive curve).

I also have a GTX 1660 currently as my video card, so would it even drive this monitor?

Thanks! I went to outlet store and created an account and the item shows up as $755 in the cart —and I bought it for $755 and the order went through. The Outlet store says no units are pre owned and if any unit is an open box the listing will say so. This offer did not say open box. The discounts are the $600 for Black Friday and $144 for employee discount. I never claimed to be an employee of anyone so somehow just creating the account triggers this extra discount . Paid using PayPal after signing up for Paypals Samsung deal which may or may not trigger a 4% rebate in PayPal points— PayPal deal was vague as to what qualifies.

No need to sign up for ANY type of discount program — just go to outlet sign up for a regular account and put it in the cart and look at your cart. Abracadabra it gives you the employee discount and it costs $755.

Also just purchased and it rang up to $742.49. I checked the education discount option, but never asked me for an Edu email or anything to verify it.

Then went back and grabbed the CRG9 so I can compare the two, and it rang up for only $662.99. Great deal!
