I just bought the 77" C2 for for $2,500. Although I got a slightly better panel, I'm kicking myself in the foot a bit on this one..

90 day warranty! Does MC provide a purchasable warranty to add to this?
I was offered an extra warranty when I came to pick up a refurb microcenter tv, but I don't think it covers burn in

Never got a microcenter refurb that worked. Buyer beware. It's a pain in the farking ass to return a 77" tv.

Also my returns weren't easy. They took them out of the box and plugged them in to make sure they work (the whole reason I'm returning them is because they didn't). Fortunately they power on but randomly turned off or had hdmi issues.

So just something to think about. Know you might need to return it vs a b2 at Costco with a warranty and delivery

I bought a C1 77'' refurbished from MC this Feb. from a post like this. Bought the 4yr warranty because the sales rep said it covered burn in and I was scared from all the comments here about it. One week later I found out that MC does not cover Burn-In in any of their warranties. I went back to the store pretending to be a new customers and asked about the Burn-In warranty while recording the audio on my phone in my pocket. He assures me they cover it, I show the screenshots of my convo with MC online customer service saying they DON'T, I speak to the manager who confirms they don't and that the sales rep has been giving false info. I got a refund from the extended warranty.

Four months later, 70hr of run-time use (I was busy with work), and the TV gets this WHITE-BRIGHT vertical line of dead pixels when running all. the. time. More lines show up next to it with the next following days, nobody hit or moved the TV since the day it arrived. I speak to MC who says I'm F'd & gonna be down $2k. I say ok and buy another 77''. I take the backpanels off to "examine them" and return the "New" TV (btw there was a dead stink bug inside the box, I have pics). Everything is well for a few months, Elden Ring comes out, I start playing it on the TV and this 2 inch black shadow column shows up in the middle of the screen. Luckily it, it clears up with Pixel Cleaning feature, but it shows up everytime you game for 4-7hrs. Aside from that, BEAUTIFUL TV.

I sold the TV at a big loss to someone who didn't mind the issue as he doesn't game. I just ordered the S95B directly from Samsung today to fill that empty void in my livingroom.

MC Refurbished screwed me up 2x with this very same C1 77 OLED and fed me wrong info (I got the audio to confirm) on its warranty. I'm sure the sales rep had no wrong intentions and I do enjoy doing business with MC but man this has become almost a year long hassle.

Thread. With. Absolute. Care.

I've learned a huge lesson about Risk.
(but the burn in I was looking out for ironically never happened)

When I returned mine I imagined they would give me hard time. I opened the panel and just disconnected the power cord slightly but they never even bothered to check it. They just said, yeah the refurbished come back often and just looked that the tv was there.

I picked up mine like 6 months ago from microcenter. Was like new. If not new. No issues yet.

There's a difference between being controlled and making financial decisions together. Most successful marriages do the latter

Thanks for the detailed write up. My local MC has had the 77" Sony for a great price and I've been debating back and forth for a week. Gonna spend more for new.

You could get lucky and get a good one. My only advise is that you get the warranty. If you get burn in, open the panel and take a look inside to "make sure" all the cables are "connected" correctly. So that when you take it to the store that it actually "powers on".

so you decided to commit fraud because you didn't get it on writing that they covered burn-ins and your unit breaks after the specified refurb warranty period? maybe it was karma that your 2nd refurb ended up having issues too given you fraudulently swapped it out with your 1st one that had issues past warranty

Yeah, you're right. I believe in Karma and I like to think that 2nd was bad as a result from it. Or maybe it was karma on them for trying to sell such badly put together refurbished TV.

The employe at MC told me they just send them back to the 3rd party repair company in Mexico where they just keep mixing and matching the components from other returned TV's until a client like me gets stuck with it. I just played their game back to them.

Not sure what the tax rate is in Ohio but in Texas 2300 including tax is equivalent to 2124 before tax.
Yeah that's low enough that I'd bite...but on the fence about waiting for Samsung 75* qled next year.

So you don't see a brand new 77" C2 going below 2300? I was hoping it'd drop at least another 200 for BF, especially with shipping. I'm in Ohio but micro center is still 2 hour drive away and wouldn't fit in my car Wish they shipped, would even pay more
Do you care where you buy it from? Check out Lowe's and their coupons you can buy.
