    The sensor determines the position of the door so it knows if it's open or closed (based on whether it is vertical or horizontal).

    Google it. Read the reviews and watch Youtube comparison videos so you can know everything about the two and make informed decisions for yourself. Don't ask to be spoon-fed. It won't take long, trust me, and it's not a waste of your time.

    There are many idiots who swear by lamespot (fakespot) that only gives a grade rating and literally nothing else. That is a perfect example of how someone becomes braindead.

    Having had both, I would say this version is much easier to set up and seems to work more seamlessly with less hassles. I gave away my black one and replaced it with a white one because it's much more reliable with my opener. Fortunately, the black one works ok for the person I gave it to.

    I would always choose the white one over the black one for a new purchase, but if you aren't having problems, it may not be worth replacing it either...

    So I have a myQ door and can open/close it and monitor it from my phone without the hub...is there any reason why I need a hub?

    Hub is built into yours. The hub is for those who don't have a MyQ door opener.

    I have a 2-door garage. Could I order 2x myQ Smart Garage Control for $16.99 each and use just the door sensor from the second set? Or, do I have to fork over $40 for just the Smart Garage Control door sensor, for the second door?
