One of my best purchases. Open your garage from anywhere with cell service and have peace of mind that you closed it.

Having had both, I would say this version is much easier to set up and seems to work more seamlessly with less hassles. I gave away my black one and replaced it with a white one because it's much more reliable with my opener. Fortunately, the black one works ok for the person I gave it to.

I would always choose the white one over the black one for a new purchase, but if you aren't having problems, it may not be worth replacing it either...

Around the same price every Thanksgiving for the past 5 years through 2 different versions.

Surprisingly responsive on the notifications to my iPhone.

I no longer have the garage door remote. Do I need to replace it first in order to get this to work?
Depends on your opener. If you don't need it to program, like for a craftsman or chamberlain, then you'll be fine if I remember correctly (you just have to hit the "learn" button on the opener). If you have something else, you may need it....hard to say without knowing your brand and model of opener. I'd try it. Worst case scenario send it back.

I have 2 door garage and myq on 1 door. I'm assuming I have the black version because I had it installed few year ago. Can I use this white version ?do I need another hub thing?

Has anyone used this version successfully with T-Mobile Home internet? They block the ports required on the older version.
You should never, ever use a router from another company like your ISP. Period.

You must use their modem probably but always install your own router.

(I personally use my own modem too).

I don't think the sensors are interchangeable. If they were, you could just use the sensors both with one hub.

So, I think you have two options:
1. Buy two units and replace your black one and just use one hub and both sensors.
2. Install the new hub and sensor on your other door that doesn't have one and just have two separate hubs.

Only you can decide which makes more sense to you. One is cheaper, but one is simpler.

I've read through all the comments but I seriously don't know much at all about garage door openers, so please excuse my ignorance. I just don't know if I'm missing something here as sometimes the details aren't mentioned because most people know what everything entails.

I live in a 3 garage house, I believe 2 chamberlain and one craftsman opener. Are the sensors themselves cheaper than purchasing 3 of these units? I saw someone mention $40 earlier. Just wondering if the best thing to do is purchase three of these and use three sensors on one hub or one of these and find two more sensors by themselves, and if there's any compatibility issues with sensors, ie are the expandable specific sensors, where the main sensor needs to go with the hub it came with.

Again, sorry for the ignorance on the subject but I lived many years without a garage and I try to update everything in the new house to smart items

So both doors have 2 different units. One is a liftmaster and one is a Chamberlin. One of them has myq logo and wifi logo. The other only has myq logo. The wifi one I have connected to app. The other I couldn't connect.

Apparently I need to connect something to it to give it wifi. I'm not sure if this would help me with that.

Does this make your opener work with HomeKit? Mine already works with the MyQ app, but can't interface with Siri.

Yeah I'm not sure how this would interface to one that has it built in. You may be best served by calling Chamberlain tomorrow and explaining your exact situation before you purchase. I've found that they are very helpful with tech support, but it takes a bit to get connected.

I haven't been able to get my MYQ opener to connect. Maybe I need a range extender. I've tried all the suggestions that the app has given me and unable to connect. I'm gonna try this out hopefully it will help

I see no benefit from purchasing from myq and it looks like their website is getting crushed right now

Also curious myself, I have the black one and it works fine, but this would be a cheap backup if that dies.

I have a ProMax 2 Garage Motor and a Genie remote. Turns out that the pairing did not work if I choose the Promax, but it did pair when I selected Gennie as a remote controller. I thought all went well and not I can not control the garage door with the phone. Are there any user with the same setup as mine, can you please advise if it worked for you?

Purchased this last time it was on sale and it was a terrible experience for me. Doesn't play nice with my Wi-Fi mesh system and kept going offline consistently. Ended up buying a Meero system for $5 more and it has been perfect.
