One of my best purchases. Open your garage from anywhere with cell service and have peace of mind that you closed it.

Having had both, I would say this version is much easier to set up and seems to work more seamlessly with less hassles. I gave away my black one and replaced it with a white one because it's much more reliable with my opener. Fortunately, the black one works ok for the person I gave it to.

I would always choose the white one over the black one for a new purchase, but if you aren't having problems, it may not be worth replacing it either...

Around the same price every Thanksgiving for the past 5 years through 2 different versions.

Surprisingly responsive on the notifications to my iPhone.

Are there step by step instructions for getting this to work with my alarm.com system? I don't want to use the myq app, but rather my alarm.com app. I have two garage door openers and have garage automation on my account. I ordered two of these.

No it doesn't. It talks to the radio receiver. You may have installed a button with a receiver in it, but that's not this device.

I think this is the device you're thinking of, and that's not what is on sale in this thread.

Hmm you are correct. I think it is the same principle as my set up. Hope this works for my folks. I think it will

Turns out the hub can get interfered with by certain LED bulbs. Turns out I put in these super bright LED work lamps in my garage and they would clear the codes from the unit. I reinstalled the base module underneath my dark work bench and haven't had any problems since.
Yup, when I put led bulbs into my garage overhead, it blocked the remote from opening the garage.

Count me among those who got this on a previous years deal and have found it to be incredibly valuable.
I love the setting where you can tell it to automatically close your garage door if it's left open past a certain hour of the day (I'm ashamed to say that that's been triggered a few times).
I also love just driving away from my house and getting the notification when I'm halfway down the street on my watch telling me that the door has closed.

I had the black version of this.. MyQ used to work good then became really unstable, not knowing what's open and closed. And the nail in the coffin is when MyQ decided to bombard their app with freaking ads on the front screen.. I just need to open and close the garage without any fuss. They got greedy! But I got rid of this and looking for other solutions.

This is true even if you put outside LED Landscaping lighting that's near your garage which will block your remote signal from your cars to the base and even the outside keypad to the base.

Dont have any stability or Ads issue so not sure whats going on with your setup.....

I also helped install this for a few family members and instead of giving a spare key they have shared MyQ with me so remember that as an option. I stopped the Amazon deliver FYI .

Looks like the white sensor (MYQ-G0402) works with the black hub (MYQ-G0301) but the black sensor (MYQ-G0302) doesn't work with the white hub (MYQ-G0401). At least as per their product pages. Real life experience may differ.

If you don't see ads then you might have not updated your MyQ app...

Does this make your opener work with HomeKit? Mine already works with the MyQ app, but can't interface with Siri.
If yours already works with the app, I don't think this device would help you at all.

The only ads I see are a non-intrusive red dot that if you click on it takes you to an ad for their camera add-on. Hardly a popup or anything significant on the front screen.

Are you sure you don't have malware on your phone instead that is causing those popups?.

The most frustrating product I've owned. It worked sporadically, then not at all, then sporadically after a reboot, then not at all until a reboot, etc.

I went down every rabbit hole imaginable trying to figure out the issue. DNS, router firmware, access point firmware, radio interference, Wi-Fi naming, etc. The strange thing is that the sensor always accurately reported the garage door state -- it just wouldn't reliably close or open. That makes me suspect some type of hardware failure on the device.

Ultimately I replaced with a Meross garage door opener, which has been rock solid for me.

I do miss Amazon Key when the MyQ worked, but I don't miss Amazon calling me to tell me my garage door won't close when the MyQ decided to abruptly stop working in the middle of a delivery.

And yet, AND YET, for $17, I'm debating going through that pain all over again. I definitely won't chuck out the Meross -- but I'm debating ordering a new MyQ to see if Amazon Key (and Walmart+) deliveries would work consistently. At least with the Meross installed, I can still always close the garage even if the MyQ craps out mid-delivery again.

Malware? Lol.. Its not a popup. But on the Apple app store, check their app review. Its flooded with customers angered by the addition of ads on the front screen.

Am I remembering correctly that this needs a subscription for most functionality?
No subscription needed for just app based open and close. But if you want to add a MyQ camera then there is a subscription for video.

I have the old version of this. Is there any material improvement vs the new one?
