Is this Intel GPU proven? Or should I wait for an RTX 3060 deal?

A370M has 4GB VRAM and performance is similar to laptop 3050. I don't play games so for something liek video editing it may be enough or perfect.

But I wonder how the thermals of the 12700H are in these slim laptops, my understanding is Intel 12th gen generates lots of heat so their effective performance in thin/light/stylish laptops may be realistically more like an i5 or i3 even.

There is some throttling on runs 2 and 3 of cinebench r23 multicore.. but most thinner laptops will see this.

In cart you can also add the Lenovo Digital Pen 2 offered for $19.99 to get the additional $20 off. This makes the pen a free accessory and you save 1 cent off the total. The pen is currently on sale separately for $28.04 and full retail is $39.99. I plan to upgrade the SSD to fast 2TB model and it's just what I needed.

Good deal, I bought the 32Gb/1Tb version over the summer and am happy with it. I would not buy this for gaming though, it does thermal throttle and struggle with some older titles. I could not get Witcher 3 to perform decent on mine, but Doom Eternal and Fallout 76 had no issue, though Doom did heat up the laptop quite a bit. Also, a friend loaned me their Oculus Rift to try and this laptop does not support it at all, I don't know if the Arc card is not showing itself through the USB C connectors or the HDMI when I use an active HDMI to DisplayPort connector. Other than gaming, and issues with VMs, I think this laptop is great. Note that the memory is soldered though.

What's battery life like? Contemplating the $650 version w/o Arc, but would prefer 512/16 GB. Concerned this model will be half the battery time of that.

I am not sure, probably not that great, 4-5 hours maybe. I mostly use mine plugged in and docked when traveling between home and different offices. I have the battery set to charge to 80% max as well to minimize wear to the battery.

The $650 version has soldered 8gb ram and can't be upgraded. Is that a deal breaker? I already bought if from BestBuy open box today. Now, I'm wondering if I should return it.

Depends on what you value most...I don't see it as a deal breaker. 8GB is probably fine most of the time, but 16 has headroom.

I bought an open box from BB today too, as well this Arc version direct from Lenovo. I'll run them both through their paces to understand real world battery life. My guess is that this model won't have the longevity I'm looking for, but I wasn't able to find much info online. I did a fair amount of research including power draw and efficiency of the CPUs themselves.

With the 15% R..... cash back, should i return mine and buy it new directly from the site? Lenovo also give $40-$60 back in rewards.

It's only available for pickup at best buy, I'm not sure the cashback will process...? They also removed the coupon code discount (either holidaysurprise for $25 savings or SURPRISEFIVEOFF for $32) when I got to the final step of checkout. Seems they don't charge your card until you pick up from best buy.
