Deal History

I've had this monitor for around 3 years now. It was fantastic at the time, and I still love it to this day (it's still my daily driver). I picked it up on a BF deal in 2019 for ~$900.
It would be hard to justify spending this much on a monitor that's been on the market for 3+ years, especially given the improvements seen in the subsequent models (AW3421DW, AW3423DW, AW3423DWF).
You would be buying relatively 'old' tech for a relatively premium price. Yes the new DW23 models are more expensive, but they are QLED. They may still go on sale sometime this holiday season too, so I'm personally waiting to see if that happens.
If you don't mind buying 3 year old technology and/or don't need the latest-and-greatest, it is a fantastic panel nonetheless.
PS edit: I forgot to mention the 38" version also came out after this - the 'AW3821DW'. I'm hoping for a QLED refresh of that soon; expecting the model numbers to be AW3823DW and AW3823DWF.

meh... 1900R
for $200 less you can get a curved 1500R 1ms 144Hz Free Sync and G-Sync with a Sammy panel but with a not allowed in here brand name (vio ... tek)
I'd pick the 20DW for a dual-duty (gaming/work) monitor. It's not quite as good for gaming, specifically in darks, but it's far better for static content. Also, the 23DW will G-Sync flicker if the framerate is unstable, unlike the 20DW. The 23DW also has to pixel-shift fairly regularly as part of its burn-in prevention, which gets really distracting in static content. The 20DW is still a phenomenal monitor all around. I'm personally waiting for the next iteration of 23DW when they hopefully fix the BS issues it has now
