I've had this monitor for around 3 years now. It was fantastic at the time, and I still love it to this day (it's still my daily driver). I picked it up on a BF deal in 2019 for ~$900.

It would be hard to justify spending this much on a monitor that's been on the market for 3+ years, especially given the improvements seen in the subsequent models (AW3421DW, AW3423DW, AW3423DWF).

You would be buying relatively 'old' tech for a relatively premium price. Yes the new DW23 models are more expensive, but they are QLED. They may still go on sale sometime this holiday season too, so I'm personally waiting to see if that happens.

If you don't mind buying 3 year old technology and/or don't need the latest-and-greatest, it is a fantastic panel nonetheless.

PS edit: I forgot to mention the 38" version also came out after this - the 'AW3821DW'. I'm hoping for a QLED refresh of that soon; expecting the model numbers to be AW3823DW and AW3823DWF.
That one. This ones dp 1.2 and hdmi 1.4, such old tech

OLED 120hz is superior to IPS 144hz refresh rate.
Hard pass on OLED on PC with burn in issues not quite completely resolved yet.

This LG 34GP63A-B seems identical specs for $299 - unless I'm missing something
LG 34GP63A-B (amazon) [amazon.com]
You are absolutely missing something. The 34GP63A-B is a VA panel and is not G-Sync compatible.

If you're looking for an IPS 34" monitor, I would recommend the Gygabyte M34WQ, which is $400 on Amazon

Yea I would pass. Amazon has multiple 32 or 34" LG 144hz+1440p monitors for half this price. Yes it's VA but this IpS isn't double the price better.

Tell that to my OLED with well over 2000 hours used exclusively for gaming. Not even a hint of burn in.

I've had this monitor for 2+ years now and have absolutely loved it. It's been one of the best purchases I've ever made in terms of enjoying gaming experiences.

That being said, it's becoming a bit dated with it's older inputs etc...

I picked up this monitor when it was first released. It's been phenomenal with no issues.

I'm not sure how this price stands in today's market but no regrets here.

I have had this size/resolution (but I think I have the previous generation) for around 5 years now. It is an incredible monitor, but not having 240 hz is noticable on competitive games or games with quick movements. Most of my game (rocket league or Apex legends) typically sits around 98 or 105 fps. It's doable, but I know it would be better to get something a bit more.

Multitasking is incredible, colors and density is great. It's my daily work monitor as well.

Only issue I have had is that it has a single pixel nearly all the way up in the top left corner. I literally never notice it except on a dark or black loading screen. Once or twice I might have thought it was a piece of dust on the screen and tried to wipe it away. 😆

I have this monitor and the LG 34GP83A-B stacked. The LG wins in every dept. This model is technically older and has no HDR, is limited to 120hz and only DP 1.2/HDMI 1.4. The LG has HDR 400 (not great, but it can be useful), can overclock to 160hz (in 8 bit) and has DP 1.4/HDMI 2.0. Colors look much more accurate as well.

I'm waiting for CES, there are new monitors coming (OLED, DP 2.0, higher refresh, etc.) and these older versions will be coming down.
