DON'T BUY THE 8600 COMBO, just buy the 8600 by itself for $116, complete the purchase. the next screen after purchase completed will ask if you want to add the 2-pack for $15 or the 3-pack mesh for $20. it's $14 cheaper that way.

Initially this seems like an awesome deal. Only $29 more to get mesh compared to the $60 MB7621-only deal? (https://slickdeals.net/f/16223803-motorola-networking-products-mb7621-wifi-docsis-3-0-cable-modem-60-more-free-s-h) Hell yeah, right?

The Amazon reviews seem mixed, with some people having problems with setup, while others no problems at all. In addition, the latest iOS app store reviews say they receive an "unknown error" message. With the app being last updated 2y ago, this may never be fixed. Caveat emptor

3 pack is also 70$ on Amazon. Reviews are a bit iffy. Good concept, but not sure how good Motorola is these days.

Yes. Have Xfinity and tried setting up MB8600 with an Orbi system. Never got it up and running.

I've been using this 2-pack mesh system for a year and it has actually been pretty solid. The range could be better, currently getting about 15ft between 1-2 walls before noticing a bar drop off on wifi signal but overall very good and easy to setup. They have an app that is pretty useful too. Haven't had to reset much, maybe 1-2x since installing. I like that the units have a gigabit port on the back and these are Tri-band so they don't degrade speed with a wifi mesh; which is how I'm using it. Overall a pretty solid setup for the price. As someone else mentioned, no wifi6 but I only have 1-2 devices that are wifi 6 compatible so it's not a deal breaker. We also have about 10 devices connected at any given time and no drops or lag.

Interesting, thanks for sharing your experience! Curious, are you using this exclusively wireless or connected via ethernet between the nodes? (ethernet backhaul)

Likely a Motorola in brand only. That company has sold off so much. A pale remnant of its former glory. The modems are good even if they are made by the spun off division. I currently use one that handles my high-speed Comcast cable connection. Would be wary of the wireless mesh without a lot of reviews.

I bought my parents latest Google Nest mesh and they have two of the routers with one acting as an access point. Works great and I can troubleshoot remotely (a godsend) via the app.

No, the MH7020 mesh system is closed loop and can only repeat other MH7020 routers.
