In my experience, the windows Bluetooth is awful for gaming. My controller would constantly lag or disconnect and I'd have to turn the Bluetooth off and back on.

This adapter makes the connection WAY more stable. It also allows you to use older controllers that don't have Bluetooth and you can connect several controllers.

Microsoft uses a proprietary wireless technology, so you need a special adapter
