I put one of these in my 2012 MacBook years ago, still spinning. Not the fastest but it's solid, I paid a bit more than this too good price !

Mine recently died, but that one was from around 2016, so probably a completely different drive to these that are being sold today.

With current bf/cm sales? Between $15-20 more. Worth it in my opinion.

This(link below) is the best 1tb dram ssdrive currently available and on sale that I am aware of.

A very decent drive for the money, I just bought several to update the boot drive on a few old PCS and to add in to my unraid thin clients.

There might be some better deals on Cyber Monday, so I set the shipping as far out as I could with 'no rush shipping' so I can cancel if something better comes along.

San disk SSD plus drives are flexible bom. So it's whatever wd/SanDisk wants to put in them.
I had a few older ones and it's the only ssd I've had die. It just stopped working completely one day.

Any reason to buy something faster if it's just for games? I assume no real world difference at this firm factor.

if its mainly a read only drive, does the dram matter? I'd just use it as a game drive.

I've purchased three of these over the years. A 256GB one, and two 480GB. I put them all in older laptops which the family uses. Huge difference. Also doesn't hurt of course if you put a new clean operating system on them while you're switching. None of them have failed. For the price, you can't beat these, especially in older tech that still has slow HD's in them.
