I have flown hundreds if not thousands of times with multiple drones and the only 2 crashes I have are with litchi
dont forget, you need to buy each one of the litchi programs for all of your platform as you cannot share them across platform. buy it for android and you cannot use it on ios and vice versa. if you want to put litchi on a different platform such as a smart controller, you need to version sold by amazon.
anyone with a mavic 2 pro or 2 zoom already has waypoints but it would be nice to have an alternative which is why i'm going to buy this at half price. anyone with a mavic3 this is probably still a year away, if ever. i've heard the m3 sdk won't be released and that has to happen before litchi integration.
most flyaways involved pilot errors quite often but not always. there are plenty of cases where the drone failed or malfunctioned and the loss was covered under warranty by dji after reviewing the logs. a flyaway doesn't necessary mean the drone fly off and never came back but in this context, it means the drone was unable to be recovered. new with dji care refresh is something called "flyaway coverage" where you can trigger your insurance if you cannot send the drone back to dji for inspection. in order to have this coverage, you need to bind your remote controller and the drone together and this isn't possible while using litchi so if you don't get your drone back, it's possible the loss won't be covered by dji while flying litchi.
Thanks for this. I guess I need to do some research, but as I have DJI Care Refresh for my Air 2S, I'm concerned that a flyaway etc. would invalidate that protection if using this app.

This is a pretty good deal. Anyone with a dji drone should have this. Can do waypoint missions, etc... no need to connect to dji servers and be forced to update.

That's pretty kool. I would get this if I didn't have the remote control with the screen

In for one. I have the recent Mavic Air 2 but it's totally locked down by DJI. My older Phantom 3 Pro is not geo fenced since I haven't updated the firmware, but DJI no longer supports it as of September 2022. But this software does support it.
That's super concerning to hear.
It's $12.99 on Apple App Store now.
Yeah it's a decent feeling app, I've flown with it a few times but the only 2 crashes I had were with that app. Both times the app disconnected and the drone kept flying in the direction before it shut down. Remote did not work. One time ruined the drone and the 2nd time I was low enough that it only broke the props
I have been flying with litchi for over 3 years, I don't know how it plays with the latest models but for panoramic aeb and predefined way point missions it's amazing. I haven't even installed djis own app since I started using it.
