Oh come on, they're fun. I've had a few of these on my shelf at the office for years and they're always conversation starters.

Bad part is it's $35 minimum for free shipping.

Yeah, like froglegz said, starting conversations about e-waste.

Bought for my daughters Barbie house. Looking forward to those moments in the future when she figures out dad infiltrated her toy box.

If anyone is curious, these aren't easily hackable. If like me you're curious about something like this but would like to load more than one set of clips, check out the more feature rich ( and expensive) TinyTV https://tinytv.us/

There's also some listings popping up on Ali if you search for "mini retro tv" or "dollhouse tv playable".

The one that looks the most promising is $18 and has 4GB of storage.

Based on the fact that it's using an AMV/AVI decoder, I'm willing to bet that storage is soldered in.

However, at this resolution, a 30min video file would only be about 80MB, netting you about 50 episodes.

It seems like the best DIY solution would be to pick up a cheap MP4 player and 3D print a TV shell for it. The S18 goes for $16, is almost a 4:3 ratio and can take a 128GB micro SD.
