To each their own, but I could not do a 60% board. I bought a Ducky One 2 SF (65%), and rarely use it. It's so nice, but I didn't realize how often I use the Home and End keys. Obviously it's possible to use them, but finding that Function key first never felt natural. I went back to an 80% TKL.

I use those keys a lot too. I ended up getting a programmable 65% keyboard so I could choose where those keys are. Now, when I hold down the caps lock key with my left pinky: IJKL are my arrow keys and UO are my home/end keys. I have some other customizations too, and it took about a month to get used to all my customized keys, but this actually feels more natural now because I don't have to move my hands off the home row to reach any keys. It's a productivity leap.

Sometimes it is nice not to have to hold down the caps lock key for arrow key functionality, so my keyboard also has the arrow keys in the bottom right. I learned this from my previous 60% keyboard and that's why I went 65% when covid hit and my family needed me to get a quieter keyboard (went with silent reds and they're great).

I think I just realized that I was handicapping myself for almost no gain. I saved some desktop space, but now I'm having to hunt for keys or move my hands in ways I'm not used to. It just interrupts my workflow more than it needs to.

For example, I use PrtSc a lot to discuss screenshots with clients. Now it's a second layer key in an unusual place.
I use Excel a lot and the F2 and F4 buttons are super useful when writing functions which now requires 2 key strokes. Same with F5 and running SQL.
When running or editing code on Windows CRT+SHIFT+HOME/END is super useful because you can select everything above or below your current position. It's also useful for just navigating text.

None of that is awful, but why make it harder than it needs to be?
