1/4 inch impact? How much torque do you think you can apply to a 5/16 inch fastener before it snaps off that you need an impact?

Really good quality. I have the completed set of 1/2 and 3/8 for both SAE and METRIC. Very tempting to complete my collection with 1/4, but I really do not where I am going to use this set since I already have normal socket. (Not impact)

Torque shear ratings are calculated based on the grade of the bolt and vary slightly based on dimension.

All you need to know is your socket won't be the thing breaking. If someone needs to know this to determine if they should use hand tools or a nutbusting impact wrench, they deserve any negative outcomes that come of it.

This set is a huge bang for the buck, low clearance areas and can scale upward to a lot of applications.

Works great with i.e. dewalt impact driver for putting together wood products with big black lag screws in their different sizes

Honestly.... that's what I was saying to myself. Does one really need an "Impact Rated" 1/4 inch drive socket master set? I did buy a short 1/2 inch drive socket set today though.

Impacts are often easier on the bolts, the multiple smaller impacts help to get bolts moving vs applying the continuous torque by hand, especially when by hand we often are not applying that force perfectly square to the bolt

It's made for a 1/4" impact driver, not an impact gun. You really won't understand unless you have used one. They work and are less likely to strip a head than a regular drill driver. But you still have to be reasonable with the way you use them.

You sounded so confident in that response, lol. This is for an impact wrench.

They aren't particularly thick. I use them as regular sockets too.

Only thing I dislike about this set is having both metric and standard in the same box.

Lots of other Sunex sets on sale too. Picked up the 10-36mm 1/2" deep set.
