FYI… Prusa never discounts their products, they only do gimmicks like free filament or free shipping. If you want one of their printers, this sale is about as good as it gets.
I bought a MK3S+ last year on a deal with freebies and have had nothing but excellent experiences with it since then. Great printer with very little drama. Started with no knowledge of 3d printers and have had almost zero issues. Their website has great info on getting it set up and once it's set it just works. I no longer watch the first layer print and am comfortable setting it for 27+ hour prints without checking up on it because it is so reliable. Truly a "set it and forget it" printer.

Yeah, no. Not gonna be the guinea pigs for the company. There will definitely be a new version at the end of next year or early 2024 that will fix all the problems discovered after they were mass produced and in customers' hands. That is also besides all the quality of life improvements it'll have. Feel free to support the company's initial run though but I'll take a proven printer over a 1st gen. If it has rave reviews after being in the field, I'll then upgrade to it when V2 is available.

Same here. I got it on this deal last year ($50 cheaper then) and the previous year, and was totally satisfied. However... this generation of printers is very slow. The MK3S+ can take up to 2 hours to print a Benchy whereas Core XY printers like the Bambu can do it in 20 minutes. It may not matter to some people but dang... that's a major difference.

Yeah, it will make sense for many people to wait a while, but it also makes sense to look at what's coming before throwing a lot of money into Prusa at this point. With the MK3, Prusa have rested on their laurels for years now with little innovation and the only thing they have on the horizon is the $2000 XL which will be beyond the budget of many. Josef Prusa hails the advantages of being open source, but two key advantages of open source are speed of innovation and low cost, neither of which describes Prusa's offerings.

Yea from the reviews of the X1 I'm seeing, Prusa is going to have to start reevaluating its pricing.
Pricing looks almost the same. $100 more, but free shipping, established company, known high quality, and proven support. Doubt they are worried. There is a reason they are known as one of, if not the, best at what they do. X1 actually needs to be cheaper than it is to compete. $700 for a Chinese, unproven upstart. I wouldn't do it, but love the competition as that is good for the consumer.

I sold my Prusa mini when I got the Bambu X1. It's just amazing and so much faster.

Free shipping is not a "gimmick". That is real money you are saving. Overseas shipping is expensive.
