If you absolutely have to have an nVidia card it's a good price for the 3070 as it seems unlikely the guy in the black leather jacket is going to allow the AIB's to lower the prices any further. If you want similar performance and 4 GB more vRAM and don't care about ray tracing or nVidia's better drivers/software, then you can get more raw performance with an AMD 6750 XT for around $380.
The usual $50 increase for 6750 xt compared to a 6700xt doesnt make sense really.
So might as well go for 6700 xt. Just putting it out there.
It's unfortunate. People are laughing at the 4080 release but it's just according to Nvidia's plan to keep 30 series prices high. They're releasing a new 3060 ti soon with a higher tag. And then next year, they'll cripple 4060 and 4070 but keep prices high still. People slurped up the 4090 so they grew some balls, even now as they increased market share in 3Q. Sick.
I hope people buy more used as much as they can. And I hope AMD surprises everyone with the 7000 launch next month.
I hope AMD will put Nvidia down but it never happens. These prices are absolutely absurd. Nobody can afford anything right now and Nvidia keeps raising prices. Crazy stuff still holding the line here. Would purchase a 4080 for 1k right now.
There are no 4060'sor 4070's this year/ NONE. There are 4080's and 4090 are selling over MSRP. 4070's and 4060's will be higher than this. I swear the average IQ of those that post here is about 60. I've been in the industry for 30 years. I sell thousands of systems and GPS's a year. It's not Nvidia--it's al the card manufacturers tired of NO margins and all the resellers tired of no margin. MSRP on most cards is 5-7% over our cost. After shipping, Merchant fees, platform fees, there is no profit. It's why EVGA got out. The idjits saying 3 years old are arm dragging basement dwellers. It's a current model till there's a replacement.
So for those wanting an RTX, you think current gen 30x0's are the way to go for now?
