Good deal, but not letting me check out? "There was a problem. An error has occurred while attempting to process your order. Please try again or check back later.". Guess I'll try again later....

Be careful with H&R Block and TaxAct. They were sending tax return data to Meta and Google.

the software sent information like names, email addresses, income information and refund amounts to Meta

Yes for stocks. Not crypto to my knowledge. I had to manually create a 1099 misc for crypto on my last return.
Same story here, and it was a letdown as TT and I think TaxAct had the ability to import these transactions from the vendors coinbase and other exchanges were using to make crypto tax reporting easy (and free for those under like 25 or 50 transactions).

But it did teach me a bit more going about the 1099 misc manual method.. still I voiced my opinion in an email and customer service call about their lack thereof and needing to add this for next year to keep up with their competition options wise.

Maybe...with inflation, this is effectively the same price as last year. Maybe $1 more. So, it is betting that it'll be cheaper than last year, in real terms. It isn't/wasn't worth the hassle since some of those deals don't include fed AND state (to me).
This is exactly the same first offering price it was last year of $22.50. In February of 2022 it went to $15 for Deluxe + State so I would wait until then or March.

What is the difference between the versions?
-- PC Download
-- Physical Code by Mail
Does the "Physical Code by Mail" version mean that you will get the box version, just as if you purchased it in a store?
They are basically the same thing. The PC download is for the actual program and then you get the activation code via email.

Miss those free deals.
Yeah, best deal tends to be in February or March of the following year, if you can wait that long to file.

Thanks. So the "PC Download" version requires a person (like a relative) to access your Amazon account to download the software, but the "By Mail" version does not?

Thanks OP. $18 (deluxe & state with additional 20% using prime), sounds good to me. It's better than the newegg deal.

Same. Tried mobile and web with and without my slow shipping credits 😔

update: changed the payment card and could checkout with my Amex. Guess Amazon/Visa is having a hard day. 😅

Yes. It'll take multiple income sources, whether W2 or other.
