No. The switches require a neutral. I'm sure someone figured out how to get around this, but I wouldn't trust it.

I wanted to post my frustration and I know all of you would want me to share...so...
I absolutely hate the way some of these "deals" are titled.

"2-Pack HS103P2 Smart Plugs or HS200 Smart Light Switch
$13 each"

In my rush (so yes I accept partial blame) all i saw was that there were two packs for $13
So, I ordered two expecting four total.

It feels like bait and switch.

So, I wish this had been titled KASA switches as cheap as $13.

OK, I don't feel better but I'm going to post anyway.

I'm not all that familiar with Kasa…do the switches work with Philips Hue? Is it anything like the Hue dimmer switches where you can configure the switches to trigger certain colors/scenes and brightness?

I have both Google Home and Alexa connected to my Hue bulbs, if that makes a difference.

I keep looking at Kara but their future product/ services are just too unclear. plus at some point they've released a new version and it was riddled with issues, assuming that's fixed by now, but this all started 3 years ago [probably more ] when they talked about switching to tapo and still seems like nothing is figured out.

I wanted to like Kasa but it seems they plateued a long time ago. I think I'll have to probably trust lutron and go with their hub. I'm not looking for much, just the ability to have wireless functionality in TV rooms and lutron's pico remotes really seem to fit the bill. but was putting it off to see if kasa would compete/ instill some confidence and it just looks like same but years later, little quirks.

If you have a smart switch (aka rocker switch) on your wall and it controls an outlet where you have a Hue bulb plugged in, the smart switch would need to be on for the Hue bulb to be recognized. It's not recommended to have a smart device control another smart device as a parent/child relationship.

I've owned Kasa products for 4+ years now (not really sure when my first device was installed) and i've had nothing but good experiences with it. The occasional app update or firmware has caused minor issues but nothing that doesn't get resolved quickly. In that time they've added 3 way switches, dimmer switches, new bulbs, new outlets, outdoor plugs, power strips, LED strips, and so on. They have a fan switch in the works too but i've heard that for a while. I'd hardly say they plateau'd years ago.

There were a lot of rumors that kasa goes away for their other line but I don't see that happening.

After the iHOME debacle, I'm keeping a close eye on this situation. All of my IHome cloud products are garbage now. They shut down their cloud servers and the devices only work with Apple Homekit to turn on/off. Bunch of BS.

I'm reading that Alexa and Google Assistant are having serious issues remaining solvent too because people aren't using them to buy things. Wonder what the futre of AI is going to turn into.

Anyway, back on topic, the Kasa smart plugs are fantastic. Can't recommend them enough. They would be stupid not to roll the devices into their Tapo brand.

Turns out this dryer is 15Amp and 120 Volt. I suspect the plug would work with it.

They likely have a gas dryer, which is very common and also uses a standard outlet to turn the drum and ignite the gas.

I have a question about parasitic load or draw on these. Anyone measured them? That's the issue with wifi smart home vs z-wave is the power draw as you have to have that wifi radio on all the time. If they are 2 watts each and I have 25 of them around the home, that's 36Kwh per month or about $90/year in my area, which I don't know if anyone considers the cost of running these long term it really adds up. I wonder if the new system they are offering in the 9xxMhz spectrum will have more or less draw? Which smart home system has the least power draw? I know wifi is the most power draw of the smart home networking technologies...
