I was staunchly against these pits. As a big fire guy, I thought they were essentially a scam. I was wrong.

I went to a party where they had the Yukon, and I was impressed. I decided to get the bonfire and the pit is truly amazing. There is no smoke once you get it rolling. I don't think I could ever go back.

It seems like maybe the shine has worn off on these things, maybe? I keep seeing deals and combos for them, whereas initially it seemed that they were going with the 'it's premium / never discounted' model.

Maybe some of the knockoffs have encroached on market share.

Question for the community - are these worth it?

I suppose the fact that SD Mods are shilling on their behalf suggests that this is less a 'deal' than a paid advert, which would then lead to the notion that this deal and the corresponding product are, in fact, shite.

Yeah man Solo Stove products been horrendously overpriced. I got my Bonfire at Costco and refused to by any of the attachments for retail price. Hopefully they've made up for their R&D costs and we'll see these things stay at a more reasonable price.

It shouldn't be targeted. For me, it was under my sapphire reserve under offers. I'm not sure if it is on the plain sapphire or lower. Make sure you have the right card selected also because the offers change from card to card.

I have a bonfire for 2 years and it's great. But I bought in during the R&D Period which is unfortunate.

1. The bottom holes would collect excess ash, which they figured that out now by having a removable grill plate below.
2. Since the default black carrier doesn't do well under the sun. They released a waterproof cover that you can leave on year around. I also lost out on that.
3. The tall flame is very appealing. One of the issues with these is that the heat doesn't spread out far enough. Most of the time, you have to be within 4 feet to feel the heat. So they released a heat deflector which looks like a saucer to help spread the heat out.

Then there's other stuff they decided to make for this $200-300 barrel in your setup. Wish I held off for this version, but it's lucky for you if you want to get it.

They are nice in that they are smokeless but the heat output is terrible. All the heat goes up and doesn't radiate
