Discovery, History, HGTV, Motortrend are the channels I watch most, are all these available for free and better yet with DVR?

Yes their are commercials. You can only fast forward them if you are watching something from the DVR

I've had Philo since it was $16/month. It's the best streaming option for me because it has all the channels that I watch. A&E, History, TLC, Paramount, AMC, MTV, VH1 etc. I don't care for all the other channels besides those

To expand on that a little bit with 2 clicks it goes through the entire commercial and resumes the show.

The "perfect" solution is/was with Dish where it would automatically fast forward through the entire commercial but it was only for certain shows during certain hours all other shows you'd have to fast forward through not as simple as Philo.

Love Philo. We used to have Sling until they basically doubled the price and split it into the moronic "Blue and Orange". Philo has 90% of what we watch for like 1/3 the cost of Sling.

It looks like it's just a combination of Paramount and Discovery. You can get discovery plus for 3 months at $1 a month (HGTV, food network channel, history channel, a&e, animal planet, etc). Then it's only $5 a month. Discovery Plus is the best deal in streaming. Then Paramount has a deal for $25 for a year of service. Or if you get a Walmart+ subscription you get Paramount for free.

A bunch of the channels they offer, the news channels, are free on Pluto tv. I just saved you a couple hundred dollars. lol
