For an extra $100 I'd take the Ebay Lenovo Legion 5 Pro with a 3070 ti. Much much better build quality.

It's not going to make a huge difference. When I used to game competitively 30fps sustained was the gold standard. Even if someone has the best of the best hardware doing hundreds of fps on a 165hz screen, if they suck, they suck and I'll beat them down on my 30fps setup. DDR4 is fine and isn't going to matter much, and reduces the price.

Word of warning- this chasis is awful. I don't take mine out of the house, rarely open or close the lid (use it as a desktop replacement) and the hinges still broke at 6 months. The plastic is the cheapest I've seen on a laptop. Mine- an I7 3060 gets really hot and noisy- I'd be scared to increase it to an i9 with a 3070. I'd spend the extra 200-300 for a proper machine or downgrade to a 3060 (I paid $800). If you do get this, don't expect it to be portable or sturdy.
