Last year's model but very similar to this year's model. After my experience with a 55 inch U6H, I will never get another Hisense without a warranty so would definitely pick up the protection plan

I'd keep the TCL, which is what I'm doing. The $80 (plus the protection plan I would want with the Hisense) is significant and TCL seems a slight step up in reliability overall as a brand. I was tempted for this one to replace my 43 inch non 4K TV though

This would be a great deal if it was new. Refurbished, though, unless you genuinely don't care about or notice screen defects like dead pixels or bad DSE (which would pass any third-party inspection) - I would stay away, as these are high likelihood losers in the screen panel lottery

It really depends on the tv & model. Some of them with this Mediatek chip can do 4K/120 but not VRR at the same time. Some promise VRR but it's not available at all resolutions/refresh rates. Some can't do those things with HDR enabled.

High refresh issues are really only a problem for gamers. For movie watching it's not an issue at all.

I think im gonna stick with that too. this is my first TCL but my buddy has a Roku version of it and its been quiet nice for them. so im happy with mine for now
