How is the 1/2 shank set compared to a basic made in the usa whiteside bit set ? Seems like its from a thirdparty seller than amazon. is the cost difference worth it ?

I think these are fine for what they are. These are all smaller bits, but they are carbide and generally good quality.
The case isn't really wood as it appears - it's plastic that looks like wood - but I don't really care.
The price is much better than whiteside, and for these bits, I think it was worth it. Just don't expect to get the same cut quality on a straight bit versus a high end spiral bit, etc. I will use the roundover and chamfer bits mostly, and the difference there isn't really noticeable to me.
