TBH 500MB/sec is still fast enough for 99% of people. At 1000 MB/sec, moving 170GB (my last export) takes ~3 minutes. At 500 MB/sec, it instead takes ~6 minutes.

Even if you move the whole 1TB, we're talking about the difference of ~15 minutes.

I'm not important enough that 15 mins is worth $30, especially when I can just leave it and do something else

This is ok for storage purposes. Just keep in mind that this only goes up to ~500MB/sec as opposed to 1000MB/sec in the newer ones if you care about speed.

In some cases it may even be better to just buy a cheap 1TB NVME stick and an enclosure instead.

it may be true Amazon is pricing this same model at $99 but at $99 at Amazon you might consider buying the sandisk extreme version which is 1050 MBps and 5 year warranty (the regular non-extreme has 3 yr. warranty) so $59 is pretty good price if the fastest speed isn't critical.

TBH 500MB/sec is still fast enough for 99% of people. At 1000 MB/sec, moving 170GB (my last export) takes ~3 minutes. At 500 MB/sec, it instead takes ~6 minutes.

It depends on the purpose....like I said, for storage it's enough. But some people might try and use this as a live drive to import/edit videos off of and that's where the 1000Mb/sec can make a difference.

You make a fair point, so the people who actually need a faster ssd should consider what you're mentioning. To bring back your first comment of it being "ok for storage purpose", I would agree with @KorgGamer69 statement about 99% of people will be fine with it, since 500MB/sec could easily run an OS way better than a traditional HDD or a portable USB at this price range and storage.

I've been using a WD_BLACK with great results. Speed, reliability, durability. Granted, mine is SSD but that's not exactly 'needed' when playing. I haven't noticed a significant lag in both unless you can minimal loading times.

Nope. The site is super buggy and swamped now. All the free gifts becomes non-free in the cart. I tried so many times and failed. Then took me another 5 tries to complete the checkout. Now the drives are all backordered.
