It's in a different category of its own - Linux laptops. Same reason you don't compare macs to windows pcs - even if the internals come from the same manufacturer.
Otherwise yeah it's just a business laptop
Can you give me a hint were to look to get a similarly priced g9?

So g9 seems to be 50% pricier than this.
If we come down to g8 the only thing i could find on amazon this for this price is a refurbished model g8 for $20 more and a much darker screen. The g9's here in Slickdeals are for HP employees or EDU or they are 30%+ more pricey and the screens are darker.
The way i found this Dev One was i was googling "laptops 1000 nits" as i like to work outside when i can.
If anyone can suggest an alternative to what the op listed with 1000 nits screen for same price range (it's actually $880 directly from HPDevOne.com) please share.
Before coming here to see if it was on Slickdeals i was already disappointed it only has pcie 3 but I'm willing to endure if i cannot find another bright laptop in this range.
