Not a commentary on anything else regarding Sharp or this TV in particular, but it's incredibly deceptive to use the term "Full Array" if the TV doesn't have local dimming. The proper term for constant-brightness LED backlighting spread throughout the panel is "Direct Lit". That's what everyone else in the industry has standardized on. This is compared to "Edge Lit" for TVs that have LEDs only on the edges.

The term "Full Array", on the other hand is standard shorthand for a TV with local dimming. Again, this is standard in the industry. For Sharp to use the term to refer to what is actually Direct Lit (while I'm sure justifying it by saying "well we didn't use the term 'local dimming' anywhere) is intended to confuse customers into thinking they are getting a feature they are not getting.

So, Best Buy's web site is in fact correct in stating that this TV, like almost every other one in its class, is Direct Lit. Any reference to "Full Array" is wrong and misleading.

No, Sharp retrieved the license from Hisense 2 years ago. This is a TV designed by Sharp using a Sharp panel and manufactured by Sharp's strategic investor, Foxconn, in Mexico. How do I know? I work for Sharp.

No risk. It's just $300. Bought a 65 inch Hisense at best buy two years ago for $250 and still work perfect.

From what I've read, this is actually a bona fide Sharp television. Apparently they bought the naming rights back from Hisense and have just started making a line of Roku TVs.

Anyone actually have this set? Wondering if it's a VA or an IPS/ADS panel.
VA panel but still very good PQ.

Can't find any reviews. Risky buy.
Not risky. Comes with standard 1-year parts and labor warranty backed by Sharp Electronics.

Why do you think this is better than the Walmart refurb?refurbished?

The refurbished yesterday was QLED and 120hz? What am I missing?

Thank you.

Can you confirm if it's truly a full array backlight? The sharpusa.com site says FA but the Best Buy page says direct lit.

Is this better than the 65" TCL Walmart had a week ago for around the same price? Wondering if it's worth switching

Page lists open box options from $255, but the link won't load anything so I can check my area. Does the link work for anyone

That's really a personal decision. The TV comes with a Sharp 1-year parts and labor warranty. Best Buy is a self-servicing dealer.
