Probably trying to dump the 80 and 81 since they are far inferior to the 82. Both 80 and 81 have grounding issues. That being said, a properly modded 81 is a nice budget option for someone who will not replace the cartridge. The 82 is too close in price to upgrade the 81 any further than the pre-amp/ground mod, especially since you have to upgrade the counter balance to change the 81 cartridge to anything decent. Instructions on pre-amp bypass for those who have an older model. Do it! https://youtu.be/I5-ACHfUhLo

I wonder if this is an error on their site, they are advertising $50 off the RT80 only and if you just go to their website (not through this link) the RT81 is not on sale. I feel like these rarely go on sale either way so any deal is a good one!

Agree, looking at an 82 myself although it's significantly more expensive since I'll also need to grab a phono stage.

Is the preamp on this decent enough to run without an upgrade? I'll be running through a denon x2200 with some energy speakers.

I'd spend the extra $50 the fluance. Cartridge/stylus much better.

God I love my Fluance. I came to Fluance off of a Crosley turntable and the difference is astronomical. The price difference is worth it for anyone wondering. Treat your records kindly to give them a long life, don't put them in a garbage player.

The white and black are on sale. The walnut veneer is still regular price.

This looks like a decent price for good belt driven turntable with a preamp for stero receivers, amplifiers, and preamplifiers that have a phono input.
I still love my Technics 1200 and 1301. They have been playing my records for almost 50 years.

The Fluance has a better stylus and cartridge and will probably sound better. But also note that the A/T is fully automatic and the Fluance is not, this may be a dealbreaker depending upon your wants/needs since your current turntable is also fully automatic.
