I need to show a loss on stock sales. Can I use this or do I need to get Premier?
The Deluxe version will work for all stock related issues, short/long term gains/losses, etc.

Fed plus state is 46 with the gift card so that's 36 for the software. Seems as good as the post Xmas deal last year for deluxe with state at least.
I've been paying $40 for deluxe federal plus state since 2018. It's been $30 for the software and $10 for the gift card. This is $6 more. I think this is the deal this year, but I am not happy about it. I've been questioning the need for turbotax anyway with the increase of the standard deduction.

Isn't online the best option with more features? If so, why but cd or download?

People, for whatever reason, think it's more "private" and "secure" ? (not sure that's even true or if TT collects data anyway). Also, you get 5 federal filings, since I guess someone in all families gets stuck doing everyone else's taxes.. parents, siblings, whatever.

Sold my vacation property after 25 years. Any idea if the deluxe version will handle it? It was never used as a rental/ income property. Just weekends away

Should, long term gain. Don't forget your upgrades to the house, that gets subtracted from the profit.

What's the advantage of using Premier? I've been getting that for the past two years since it was listed as an advantage/benefit over the other versions, and it was only $10 more than the Deluxe at the time. I guess there may be more 'hand holding' through the process?

Just bought yesterday with no gift card. Don't see a way to refund it or talk to customer service about it.

But I thought, importing stocks etc, is a bit of pain on cd/download. Isn't that true anymore?

In previous years you needed to buy the online Premier version to do stocks. The PC Deluxe version does stocks so most don't need to buy the Premier

I have been doing the same (buying Premier), but I think Deluxe handles stock sales quite well. I am questions the need to buy Premier too.

Guess we're getting into "if you don't need a particular feature of TT you can file federal returns for free with FreeTaxUSA" season already.

I use FTUSA every year without paying anything and I file my CO state return using the state's free online system.

Oh. That is slick. I did not know that.
But in this deal, i do see stocks is only for premier and above per amazon product images. But are we sure deluxe can do it as well?

At this point I just need to buy top end turbo tax yearly. First costco sale is usually where I end up.

I paid $31.63 last year on 12/29 for Deluxe+ state, this would ~35+tax discounting the gift card. I think I'll hold off for now.
Premier was $29.98 w/o sales tax on the same date.
