Nice! The Lieb is a knife I've been waiting for one of the infamous half-off sales. FYI, if you look at the micarta version it also gives an option for a black blade/black G10 version as well (so 3 different options). Aside from the Begleiter, those are the only knives at 50% off currently. The Swayback is currently only showing 10% off. Thanks for the heads-up on this one!

Hate to report this but got swayback in last sale and it false locked. Sent it back and replacement was worse.

It was part of 2 for one so I fixed it. It is easy to grind down liner and blade because they are thin.

The Begleiter's I got were great though.

So, Blade HQ had the special Begleiter in 20cv last month and I ordered one. Found the action to be much improved over the one I bought a few years back. Opens so fast it feels assisted and of course the steel is fantastic. Liked it so much I ordered two more before they sold out.

Then White Mountain knives had an exclusive Begleiter XL with button lock and flipper, so picked that up for all the fidgety goodness. Someone else had an exclusive Begleiter that was blacked out with nice green micarta scales so I figured why not?

Now this deal comes along @ 50% off so I ordered two. Then the order confirmation comes along with a $10 off code that stacks with the 50% off code so ordered another. So, that is seven new Begleiters in a bit over a month.

What is with all these great knife deals lately? With all these Kizer and Spyderco deals, along with a couple others, I am going to have a serious card payment to make next month.

There have been a lot of huge discounts lately. Also Schrade, SOG, and Civivi have all had massive pre-Black Friday sales. Kizer has had a few huge sells. Currently Spyderco is on a MAP holiday, which is why you're seeing all the deals on them right now. Once the holiday is over, they'll be back to 30 percent max discount.

Ah, Map holiday explains all the Spyderco deals. I knew there had to be something going on there. I did pick up a couple SOG items when I saw that sale and a Civivi Imperium with the copper shred handle. Not a big fan of Schrade though.

Schrade makes solid fixed blades. I don't typically buy their folders, but some of them are decent if you can get for the right price. SOG sale was crazy good. Picked up four knives from it. It was like half off, plus an additional 40 percent off that price.

Most of my knives are folders. I do have a couple of expanding batons from Schrade which are decent and a "survival knife" which is basically machined from a single piece of steel. That is an impressive knife but really heavy. But yeah, bad experience with their folders. the worst was an assisted OTF knife which has to be the worst design I have ever come across.

I picked up a Pentagon, a Flash and a Fasthawk from the SOG sale.

Schrade is hit and miss. I definitely like my fixed blades. As with any knife, I just weigh the cost against what I'm getting, and I wouldn't pay much for one of their folders.

I picked up the Pentagon, Vision, Kiku, and Stout. They're all fantastic, but that Pentagon is just WOW!
