TP-Link has a homekit plug for $10.
This is not a deal. Eve is great but severely overpriced!
Does the one from TP link also have the power meter?

Does the TP-link plug have a Thread radio? If it does, THAT'S a great deal. But if not, it's not comparable. Thread is a major benefit.

Agreed, this is why this costs so much. You pay for features and quality. So far, Eve's take on the smart home seems to be the way forward, with them supporting Thread + Matter in their products, I just wish they made more products like bulbs which supported the new standards as well.

Is it thread capable too?

Can it run independent schedules with no internet connection ?

This is for IOS (Apple) smartphones. The TP Link one works with Android phones, but I only see for sale on eBay.

Apple… just take your L on HomeKit. So many others went with SmartThings and Alexa because it was so hard to find reasonably priced compatible equipment.
I'm very happy with HomeKit and have at least 50 devices on it. You took an L not giving it a fair shot. There's nothing wrong with Apple having standards to work with their platform and companies not meeting them and therefore not functioning within HomeKit.

I bought two of these last year for $80 and they work excellent and expand my thread Network.

Yes, each one has a robust scheduling and automations features. I have one. It does not require wi-fi. Uses Bluetooth LE, so completely independent (so long as you have at least one iOS device).

I agree the discounted price is not a great deal, but recommend everyone have at least one of these if you want to measure power consumption or track how often an electrical device cycles on & off.

The Eve is awesome for monitoring power consumption. I use it to benchmark power usage for all my appliances. As an example, I only drink distilled water (purified, neutral Ph) and wanted to quantify the utility cost to distill 1 gallon. I now know it's 41 cents. I would insert graphs and screenshots, but unable to embed them here. I originally was looking for a power monitoring meter with mobile app integration, which are hundreds of dollars. I literally stumbled across the Elgato Eve.

Amazon is on track to lose $10 billion on Alexa this year and laid off over 10,000 employees working Alexa/Echo in the past few weeks. I think Apple and HomeKit are doing just fine. 😉
