That's why OP mentioned doing it at the store since they can process the trade in and give the left over as GC.

Straight talk is a verizon prepaid and the phones are the Verizon model. I used that without issue.

I can't believe how smoothly this deal went. I drove 18 minutes to a Walmart in my city, bought the straight talk iphone 11 for $220 post-tax, drove another 10 mins to best buy, and they handed me a pixel 7 and a gift card.

Best Buy has these Google Pixel 7 phones open box starting at $398, that's how bad these new Pixels are.

Resale on a Pixel 7 is only $375 at the moment, and only going down. Apparently this sales gimmick is the only way Google can generate sales on Pixel phones.

I agree in that phone prices seem crazy in general, but I have enjoyed my used 3xl that I bought 18 months ago for about $150. It was first time I have bought used, but most phones seem pretty similar and they still do, so for me it has come down to just having one that is quick, not much extra stuff on it and gets me another year or two. I miss the days of post-paid and "free phones", but the cost difference can be huge vs pre-paid and using a MNVOs. For sure over the last couple of years where we didn't go as many places, paying $50-$100 a month per line as some do to just to get the latest phone for free just seems hard to justify. I likely would keep going with the 3xl if the battery lasted longer. Last time I tried replacing cell batteries, I did 2 and one kind of swelled up bad when it was left on the wireless charger. This was on LG G7 Thinq. Too bad LG stopped making phones. I don't think any are all that right now, but have to pick something. $200 to get you a year or two and if it still is working then, you know it will have the latest OS and updates.

Hi OP, how did you buy the iphone 11 at walmart? Did you order online then pickup, or go to the store directly and ask someone to activate it for you? Is there a mobile counter at Walmart?

It's basically free + a $25 gift card when you trade in store.
