What's a good size card for Nintendo Switch? 512? 256? 128 enough?

Thanks.

Really depends on how many digital games you have vs physical, and what kind of games you intend on playing. Going all in on digital, bigger cards make a lot of sense if you have a lot of games local without needing to manage your storage

Thanks. How much does something like Super Mario Odyssey, Super Mario 3D World, etc. take up on the SD Card?

Do Nintendo Online retro games take up space?

Thanks for helping a noob.

If you or anyone else is paying $34.99 for 128gb these days, you are getting ripped off. Even at $15.99, barely a deal compared to other, better cards. You are paying quite a premium for the nintendo branding

This is a bit of an exaggeration. 1st party Nintendo games tend to be small in size and some like Mario Party, Mario Tennis and SM 3D World are around 3 GB, but SM Odyssey is around 6 GB. Animal Crossing is around 10 GB (with the DLC); BotW and Smash Bros are about 15 GB.

The NSO retro game apps take up very little space, less than 1 GB.

It is a better card and better deal in every sense. The only thing I would mention is that Nintendo recommends UHS 1 since the hardware can't take advantage of the UHS 2 and UHS 3. It even states it on the card page

"engineered with proprietary technology to reach speeds beyond UHS-I 104MB/s, requires compatible devices capable of reaching such speeds."

If you will use the card for something else as well it could be worth it, but for the Switch you can stick with a slower card like the SanDisk Ultra https://www.amazon.com/SanDisk-25...0B7NTY2S6/

Good information. I actually bought this Nintendo card for $12 later. I also got the card I tagged for my phone.

All of these cards are backwards compatible but yes, it wouldn't make sense to spend more on a better card if the device can't take advantage. Although the random read/write should be better on the card I tagged.
